About J.cole

Who?

Rapper J.Cole or more formally known as Jermain Lamarr Cole. Was born on January 28, 1985, on a U.S Army base in Frankfurt, Germany. His father, an African-American soldier, left his mother, a white German postal worker, when Cole was a baby. Kay moved taking both Jermain and his older brother Zack, to a trailer park in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Here is where Kay Cole struggles to make ends meet. Lamarr's mom eventually remarried — Cole's stepfather was also in the Army — and the family relocated to a nicer home. However, the marriage crumbled and the family lost the house as Cole was about to leave for college. His stepfather had become abusive, particularly toward Zach; after the marriage ended, Cole's mother became addicted to crack under the influence of a new boyfriend.

Years after living in a trailer park, Cole and his family were finially able to buy a house. A house that would eventually be the name of his future album that would solidify him as an established artist. It was in Terry Sanford Orcestra as a violinist Jermain Cole found his musical calling. As a teenager Cole worked and held down numerous jobs while having educate him self the works of production (business) as well as teaching himself to rap. At the age of 15 he was in a group called "Bomm Sheltuh"(wish I knew how to say the name). While being in the group Jermains stage name wasn't always "J.Cole" He was known as "The Therapist". After graduating high school Jernmain Cole moved to New York and attened St. Johns University. Graduated in the year 2007 with a degree of Communication and Business.

When finally meeting Jay Z, he rebuffed J.Coles demo saying "Man, I don't want that s**t". Immediatly upon Jay Z when after hearing J.Cole through the media, he calles Jermain. Jay Z explaines to Cole he wants his help on Jay Z's 2009 "The Blueprint 3" album. It was in the same year J.Cole decided to release his mixtape called "The Warm Up".
